UTM Tracking
Klaviyo’s native click tracking is not able to track the interactions that happen inside of Kinetic’s interactive forms. This means that without custom tracking, the clicks within your interactive forms will not be accurately attributed in your Klaviyo dashboard, making it difficult to track revenue or run accurate A/B tests. Setting up UTM tracking in Kinetic solves this by allowing us to track the analytics of your CTAs via the Kinetic analytics dashboard.Best Practice: Match your Klaviyo Settings
To ensure there are no discrepancies in your data, we highly recommend setting up your Kinetic UTM parameters to exactly match the UTM settings you already use in Klaviyo. This ensures the comparison between your Kinetic and Klaviyo data is apples to apples. You can view your current Klaviyo tracking setup by visiting your Klaviyo UTM Tracking Settings. Simply copy the settings from there into Kinetic.
Configuring UTM Parameters
In the UTM Tracking section, you can map specific values for both Campaigns and Flows.- Standard Parameters: Fill out the corresponding
Campaign ValueandFlow Valuefor the standard parameters: Source, Medium, Campaign, Content, Id, and Term. - Add Custom Parameters: If you use custom tracking parameters outside of the standard list, click the + Add Custom Parameter button. Enter your parameter name, select the dynamic or static values, and define them for your campaigns and flows.
- Delete Parameters: If you need to remove a custom parameter, simply click the Trash icon on the far right side of that parameter’s row.
Shopify Attribution
Scroll further down the Advanced settings page to find the Shopify Attribution section. This setting determines the “Attribution Window,” which is the number of days after a user submits a form that a subsequent Shopify purchase will still be attributed back to that specific email.- Default Window: The default attribution window is set to 5 days.
- Recommendation: Just like with UTM tracking, we highly recommend changing this number to match the specific attribution window you have established in your Klaviyo account. Keeping these settings identical ensures that your revenue reporting is consistent and easily comparable across all emails.
